The Grade Assessment Process would apply if you are looking to work towards your next job role. It requires you to be assessed on the competencies in the workplace.

  • The units of competence are mapped to IMCA guidelines and assessed to IMCA guidelines and national codes of practice for vocational qualifications.
  • If you do 1 or 2 assessments every trip you go on, it will take you 12 to 18 months to gather sufficient evidence.
  • An assessment pack including guidance and documents to complete a Grade Assessment is provided by MTCS via our MTCS Online platform.

If you are new to MTCS Online you will be required to set up an account prior to downloading any documentation. Please note there is no cost to set up an account on MTCS online, or any obligation for you to proceed with a verification.

Prior to purchasing your GA, the steps are as follows:

  1. Register and create an MTCS Online account, there is no cost to register, and no commitment is required.
  2. From your MTCS Online account, you will then have access to all the Grade Assessment (GA) documentation and templates so you can begin to work through the competencies. There is also an example of a typical Grade Assessment (GA) showing how it is laid out, including the areas where you will upload your evidence.
  3. Within your Online Account, there is a ‘Private Files Area‘ that you can continually access and where you can start saving your evidence, prior to purchasing the GA.

PURCHASE YOUR GA AND SUBMIT YOUR EVIDENCE

Once you have completed all the required competences and evidence, and you are ready to have it verified by MTCS, you should then purchase the GA verification.

Once you have gathered sufficient evidence you may upload it to your GA and submit it for final assessment and verification by MTCS.

VERIFICATION/CERTIFICATION

Once submitted we will receive notification that you have submitted your evidence for verification, and we will at this stage assign you a verifier, who will look through your work and feedback directly with you.

After successful verification by MTCS you will be awarded your Certificate of Competence which is valid for three years.

Your MTCS Grade Assessment course will provide instructions on how to proceed including uploading evidence, submitting evidence for verification and retrieving your certificate of competence.
