How to Identify Forged Certificates

MTCS would like to make clients aware that a small number of forged certificates, both of competence and training, have been submitted to agencies and employers over the last year.

These are of poor quality, and are easily detected, particularly with the new style certificates that have a unique certificate number on the front of the certificate in the bottom right hand corner. If you scan the QR Code or go to the link underneath, you will be directed to MTCS Online where the name and validity of that certificate can be checked.

To check the authenticity of a certificate you can cross-reference it with the MTCS database by either:
– Scanning the QR code on the certificate (fig 1)
– Entering the URL into your web browser (fig 2)

If you have any doubts please contact our office either by telephone: +44 (0) 15394 40200 or by emailing: [email protected]

You should also be aware that MTCS have a rigorous Malpractice procedure which would result in individuals or companies having their certification revoked if they are responsible for acts such as forgery or plagiarism.
