MTCS - Hydrographic Survey Training & Competence Certification

Overview

MTCS provide a range of competence certification and training programs for personnel seeking formal, independent and industry recognised certification in hydrographic survey operations.

Our certification allows survey personnel to demonstrate their competence in safety critical, operational and technical activities associated with the offshore survey industry.

There are essentially two methods that you can follow to obtain an MTCS Certificate of Competence.

Individual Competence Assessment (ICA)
Grade Assessment (GA)

The process we will recommend to you will depend on your current state of employment and your experience to date.

• Survey Party Chief

A Survey Party Chief is regarded as someone who is fully conversant in all aspects of marine survey operations.

They can successfully lead and manage the Survey Project Team during operations and will report directly to the project manager.

The Survey Party Chief is expected to coach and assess members of the Survey Project Team in line with the Competence Management Programme.

The Client Representative acts as the client’s eyes and ears during the offshore phase of a project. They are the prime method for monitoring what is going on at the site from both safety and efficiency points of view.

They will be responsible for ensuring that the contractor executes the approved scope of work within the approved procedures.
