Introduction

As a leading provider in Offshore Training and Competence Assurance, MTCS Ltd. have developed an online learning course (via MTCS Online) to assist personnel in developing their Supervisory and Leadership Skills.

Course Overview

The course follows the guidelines laid down in IMCA document C011 and requires candidates to study a range of concepts that relate to leading, maintaining and developing a small team.

It is recommended that the candidate study the majority of the course in the workplace, so they can reflect on situations and events that take place within the team on a daily basis.

The course is an experiential training programme where you will be required to undertake research into the many theories that cover the subject of ‘Leadership’ and link these to how you perform as a leader.

You will be provided with:

  • Book 1 – course instructions, activities and assignments
  • Book 2 – course notes, to give you a head start into your reading and research
  • Research and reading diary
  • Access to an online tutor at MTCS

Candidate Requirements

The course is aimed at personnel who are currently working towards the role of Supervisor and carry out some Supervisory duties as part of their current role.  The course is also suitable for personnel in a full time Supervisor role who wants to enhance their skills and obtain some formal certification of training.

Assessment

The course includes an assignment booklet that can be downloaded as part of your course and contains a range of assignments that require the candidate to reflect on situations in the workplace and draw on the theoretical concepts discussed in the course.

On completion the assignments can be uploaded to the candidate’s MTCS Online account.  The candidate will then receive constructive feedback from their tutor and a summary of further actions if required.

Certification

On successful completion of the course candidates will receive a certificate confirming Successful Completion of Training in Team Leadership for Offshore Supervisors that complies with IMCA C011.

Course Delivery

The course is delivered through MTCS Online whereby candidates will be provided with a unique access code to download the material and guidance on how to use the course.  Candidates will then upload assignments and receive feedback from their tutor.
