Introduction

Offshore and subsea ROV technicians and engineers not only require a fundamental knowledge of ROV hydraulic systems, but often also benefit from cross training beyond electrical and electronic disciplines.

To help your team multi-skill, MTCS have designed this corporate High Pressure Hydraulics training course designed to provide personnel involved with ROV activities with a practical knowledge of ROV hydraulic systems.

Course Overview

Over a 2-day course, candidates will learn hydraulic theory and high pressure hydraulic safety. If your team are familiar with general hydraulic principles, this will also function as an industry specific primer.

We also recommend this course for personnel assigned to operation and maintenance of ROV Launch and Recovery (LARS) systems.

This course can be delivered at our UK training facility at the Port of Blyth. Delivery at client facilities is also an option and we recommend you contact MTCS directly to discuss your specific requirements

For clients whose teams operate in different locations, the most cost-effective solution is to train via MTCS Online.

Candidate Requirements

The course is designed for electrically biased engineers with little or no experience in hydraulic systems to become fully-fledged ROV technicians and engineers.

It can also be an important step in the career progression of multiskilling technicians working in the offshore and subsea industry.

Course Modules

  • Hydraulic theory
  • Hydraulic components
  • Safety of personnel
  • System components and symbols
  • Contamination control
